So I did it. I finally got off my ass to visit Emily at NYU. I'm apparently the first person outside of her parents to do so---go me, I feel awesome.
Before I met up with her on Friday, I went to go see Ricki Lake with my school. Bus Ride to the city from my school was only $10, and I received a free book from the show, which ended up being Emily's birthday present. Would you like to know the name? I bet you would, you sick perverts.
Then after the show, I quickly ran to latch on to these hipsters that were headed to about where Emily lives. I don't know how New Yorkers get used to this damn subway system, but I guess it's nice to have such quick transportation so readily available. I just wish more homeless people sang and played instruments.
Random spittle of info: There are a lot of Asian people in New York
So then I met Emily, we had no clue what to do, but we did do a lot of stuff, I think. I mean, I spent $50...I have to have done something, right?
We saw Mambo Italiano which was basically the gay, depressing version of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It depressed me, one of the guys couldn't deal with being gay and coming out so he left his boyfriend, moved out, and married this girl from High School. I had a nightmare because of this. I know my closeted guy is a whole lot better though, so it really doesn't worry me.
We went to all these gay bars. Damn. People in gay bars are either: 1) old or 2) ugly. Sometimes a horrifying combination of both these qualities. We ate at this Cowgirl place. I did not see a single cowgirl when we were there. Well, actually, there were a few 5-year olds dressed up like cowgirls...
Random dollop of information: I got drunk on Friday at both 11 AM and PM, and then again at 3 AM. If you ever have the chance, I whole-heartedly recommend seeing Ricki Lake when you're plastered. You end up talking to the chicks who run an adult toy store and getting complimented on how well-dressed you are.
Today we woke up to each other's beautiful faces. How lucky Emily must've been to see my shining face when she woke up!
We went to go see the new Woody Allen film, it was very, very good--I give it 2 separate halves of a broken heart.
Then we did stuff, and more stuff.
We went into Bluestockings on Friday night after it closed cause we're just that cool that the lady working let us in. I bought a kickass t-shirt, because it's a bookstore for women. Fucking women.
Now I'm here, doing this livejournal entry as Emily types away.
"Hurry it up!" -- Emily.
It was a lovely time. Tonight: gay clubs with my male-homo crew. Emily has a paper =/
