It would've been perfectly explicable if I read 'The Woman in Black' novel by this author first. You know, considering the current situation. There was a not-Harry-Potter movie with Daniel Radcliffe based on this book not so long ago. Well, I'm going to read this novel, too. And then I'm going to watch the movie.
So why did I decide to read 'I'm the king of the castle'?
I like the title. Isn't it fascinating? There are actually a lot of books I've read because of the great titles. Though titles can't guarantee a good reading. But the book I'm writing about is a definitely very good reading.
This is the story about two boys who forced to live in the same house and the can't stand each other. So they are tormenting each other. It's reminding me about Golding's 'The Lord of the flies' in a way.
My personal impression of the story isn't very impartially because during the reading I felt sorry about one boy and I could not understand the other boy's motives. I like the one character and hate the other. It's not very fairly, isn't it? I mean a person should try walking in somebody else's shoes for a while to understand better.
I hope the author didn't want this character to be liked, though. So I don't have to like him and to justify his behavior.
