Retail therapy... I had forgotten your splendor!

Today was “spend your Christmas gift cards” day. I originally thought I'd have wind ensemble today, but the director told me that he doesn't need me until next Tuesday. Woo! So this morning we had quintet, and then I started out on my shopping expedition. First I went to Borders... books are of the utmost importance! Especially due to the fact that our quintet is traveling to Alamos, Mexico this weekend and we'll be in the car for over 24 hours between tomorrow morning and Monday night. I bought The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Kundera and The Theif's Journal by Genet. I'm really excited about both books. I spent 30-45 minutes researching books on the internet the other day to figure out what I wanted to read so these better be it (especially since Borders is over-priced). After I went to Wal-Mart and got a ton of assorted items. I had 2 gift cards so I managed to get things including a bookcase, new purse, camera case, and many necessary toiletries. Then I went to Kohls (I only had a $20 gift card) where I had intended to get a new black pair of casual/passably dressy shoes. However, the ones I liked were gone, so I managed to get a pair of khaki corduroy pants for $16 and an awesome shirt for $4.80. Last I went to target, again looking for black shoes, but ended up with another pair of workout pants (which I needed), and a Hello Kitty watch (I need a watch since I normally use my phone by my phone is no longer reliable since the battery always dies.)

After shopping and dinner, I had another quintet rehearsal and a bit of practice. When I got home, I assembled the bookcase. I did well aside from the fact that I put the top piece on upside-down, so that the screws (which are suppose to be invisible) show. Oh well... it's functional and helped me clean out my “crap drawer.” However, when I was loading it up with my books, it made me realize that my Heidegger (Introduction to Metaphysics) is missing. I was picking at it earlier in the semester and now I'm fretting that I lost it somewhere... I really hope not since it was expensive.

Well, tomorrow early our quintet departs for Mexico so it's bed time for me. Nite!
