Music and Malice
This will be brief... I swear!
It took a little longer than I expected, but now I'm back to serious practicing. Yesterday, I played for quite a long time but the time passed so quickly since I was working on new and fun music. I started on the Messager Solo De Concours yesterday and already have 1/3 of it down. What a fun piece. Now that my technique is so much more solid, stuff like that is no big deal. I'm going to ask Dr. J today how many master classes are left and perhaps he'll let me play on one. I'd like to get another performance in (solo) before the end of the semester. Besides, then it would give me a good goal. I think I could learn the Messager in 2 weeks. Ultimately, over the summer, it would be a good piece to record.
My disdain for certain people in the music school seems to ebb and flow... right now it's flowing pretty strongly. I should not let it get to me, but sometimes I do. Why can't people tell when they're being rude or obnoxious (conversationally or musically)?!!
I've been fighting what I believe to either be a cold or allergies for the past few days. All of the delights such as sore throat, stuffy nose, slight cough, and ear pain are present and accounted for. The persistence of cold, blistery weather is of no help. It seems obvious that we've ruined Earth when our weather is consistently abnormal.
I have to make up my mind about grad school by this weekend. I sent an email to Kirkbride at UA today asking about the status of their decision. I have to notify FSU by tomorrow, and I'm hesitant to do so without having an official offer. *bites nails* Ahhhh.
