Rooney, Rooney, Rooney!!

Seeing as how I wrote fourteen pages in my written journal about the Rooney Experience, I'll do a condensed version here.

OH MY F'ING GOD THEY WERE AWESOME!!!

Totally worth all six hours of standing in line and during the opening bands' performances to see them. Except that the Redwalls were really good. And their bass player was really cute. He seriously didn't look much out of high school.

But . . . Oh. Man. I snuck a camera in (Melissa wrapped our cameras in her jean jacket, which was in her bag - oh we are so bad!), and the pictures are being developed as I type this. If they turn out well, I will seriously be keeping them forever and ever. Actually, Melissa and I plan to make scrapbooks of the whole experience, which included:

- Icky $6 sandwiches at a Borders Cafe, when it turns out there was a Potbelly's right down the street
- Two hours in line outside the House of Blues, most of which was spent trying to stay dry in the torrentous downpour
- Having to push/be pushed for a decent view
- A Robert-look-alike boy in line behind us, and in front of Melissa during the opening acts (I so wanted to ask him if I could take a picture with him, but unfortunately his girlfriend was also present.)
- Stupid middle-schoolers going, "Don't stand in front of me!" when I moved over because some other girls had pushed Melissa out of her spot (where the hell ELSE was I supposed to stand, morons?)
- Getting this one girl's ponytail in my mouth when everyone was dancing
- Robert wiping the sweat off his face with a pair of underwear that had been thrown up on stage, and then throwing it back into the audience. The girl whose boyfriend was like Robert's twin got them. Damn her.
- 3 or 4 new songs!!
- TOUR SHIRTS!!!

And so much more that I can't continue, or this entry will end up being too long for anyone who reads its health.

Their new CD apparently comes out in/around September, and they will back in Chi-town next summer. I can't WAIT!!

(Yesh, I've gone fangirl. Sorry.)

music, hurrah!, good times
