Getting settled in
I just noticed I haven't updated this in a whole month -- what a crazy month it has been. I'll put some of the stuff in separate posts so that people don't have to read the bits that don't interest them.
We moved from Kitchener to Odessa on the night of November 25th. Remember that really nasty little snowstorm we got? We were driving down Hwy 401 in it. It was one of the hairiest drives we have ever had. We finally arrived in Odessa at 4 a.m., absolutely exhausted and fell into bed.
While we did have help on both ends, we didn't have half the number of people who said they would come help. Not to say that we're ungrateful for the help we did have. This was the most physically exhausting and demoralizing move we have ever made. I just hope we don't need to move again any time soon.
We're getting settled in to Mom's now and she's been fabulous about everything. She has worked really hard at making us feel like this is our home, not just the place she's letting us sleep. We're still unpacking boxes (life keeps getting in the way, but I'm motivated to finish soon -- I'm not allowed to put up the Christmas tree until we're done unpacking), but most of our things are in storage.
It looks like we'll be here for a while (8-10 months at least), but more about that at another time.
I guess I'd just like to let everyone know that we're safe and sound and doing ok.
