shedding every color trying to find a pigment of truth

Sometimes, I think that people would be lazy readers if they could - skimming to get to the good stuff. Hence, I try to pack as much as possible into a sentence. Anyways, I need a break from a series of vignettes I’m wrting and I’m in need of a writing exercise: Pick a character or a pair and a keyword and I’ll write one - and only one - sentence ( Read more... )

Optimus Prime: Nostalgia.

Mirage: Things that are Obvious.

Ironhide: Things that are Hidden.

Soundwave & Shockwave: History.

Damn, you chose some good ideas… Meaning you chose some ideas that are really hard to fit into a sentence. I’ll try to knock them out before I leave for home this Thursday.

Shiny. Wouldn't be worth your time if it were easy, now, would it?

You don't have to use the words, just the concepts. Ironhide is the most open 'Bot I can think of, outside of maybe Swoop, and Mirage the most secretive, hence the challenges. And I uphold that there's 'bad blood', if you will, between the 'Waves. They have a history of some kind and I wanted to see what you'd put in your universe.

Where do you see bad blood between the two 'Waves? I'm writing this one now, but I'll have time on the airplane to either watch DVDs or read comics. If there are nuances I'm missing, I wanna pick up on them.

Probably nothing but in my mind.

Do we _ever_ see them in the same scene? I can't think of one. And with 'Cons being what they are, Megatron's highest ranking officers (Starscream as air commander, Soundwave as communications chief and Shockwave as the ranking mech on Cybertron) are independent enough of each other that I am sure there's _at_least_ rivalry there. And there's no such thing as 'healthy' rivalry in the 'Con culture. 'Rivalry' means stabbing each other in the back, literally and figuratively, at every opportunity.

But this a challenge for you. You can use the idea of 'history' any way you want!
