Today's post is from the talented author
chrissymunder whom I'm also proud and enriched to have as a personal friend. Sorry if that sounds pretentious (up too late, talking anime and fiction and LIFE with another friend *lol*) but I really do mean it. I'm thrilled to have met her at
DreamspinnerPress and to share a couple of anthologies with her!
My favourite of her fiction??
She won't be surprised to hear it's
Brush With Desire (yes, this is another of my seductive BUY links).
After a grueling day at work, Brian's only looking forward to heading home to his cat when he stops at an all-night mega-store for a few groceries. The man he meets in the hair-care aisle wasn't on his shopping list, but after their first encounter, Brian suspects he's going to become a necessity.
It's just such fun! Sexy, too. Chrissy writes stories that are rich in characterisation and wit (yes, my favourite ingredient), from contemporary to historical, from angst to poignancy to outright humour. And maybe in 2009... she'll add a novel to that resume?! *hopes*

A very grounded, intelligent, perceptive woman, too - and she raises here the question: how CAN we have it all?!
Happy January to all the Clare London fans out there in the world.
I'm Chrissy Munder and I'm taking advantage of Clare's offer to wreak havoc in her LiveJournal. I've been enjoying the other posts this month and have been debating just what I was going to offer.
There have been some great posts on the craft of writing and I at first thought I would add my two cents in that area. My next thought was that when all else fails I could post pictures of naked men. That's always a winner in my book.
But my ability to be scintillating and thought-provoking has been drastically hampered by my unreasonable work hours this week - frankly, anything over 13 hours at work and I'm just brain dead and it's been a week of steady 13-14 hour days and since there are many more LJ posts with far more naked men pictures than I have time to come up with that was a bust as well.
So that made me wonder just how many of us writers also work full time?
How many of us are writing, working full time and trying fit in time with friends and family and, god forbid - keeping up the house as well?
How do we manage this?
Why on earth do we try?
What is it about these imaginery people in our heads that insist we try and do it all?
However, since I just happened to have worked on my day off I'm really not quite thinking straight. So, what you all get is a few tidbits that have caught my eye this week. The first some of you may have seen over at
elisa_rolle's live journal. If you haven't well, you should definitely watch this. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me chase the man around the house until I could get him to replicate the strangely hot little grunting noises.
So, rather than naked men I give you naked, animated penguins shagging - complete with a voyeuristic spider.

The other item I found strangely intriguing was this tidbit making the rounds of the talk shows.
Mantyhose - coming soon to a store near you .
The funniest thing was this comment from the article
"(It is important to note that the trend has no connection to men who wear hose to cross-dress, since they prefer to wear pairs that are more feminine.)".
Erh...exactly why is this important to note?
Anyway, click away - fall in love with a few penguins and contemplate the wonders of more men wearing pantyhose than women nowdays and when I wake up and get caffeinated I'll try to be a bit more coherent.
Like she's ever anything else, sez Clare...*lol* ♥
