I've just recently been listening (kinda bizarrely enough) to Avril Lavigne's latest stuff, and have found that her latest stuff is actually rather good, it's very much similar to her earlier stuff; Well no surpraise there but one or two songs might grate on you a little but not so much as her 'The Best Damn Thing' with the singles 'Girlfriend' which I find ecruciating irratating and 'Hot' which I bearly recognised was her music. It's very lucky that she didn't continue that path, I say. Anyway, I first come across a few surpraises about her self titled 5th album!.... Firstly she collaborates with Nickleback front man Chad Kroeger, who apparently she's married to now! :/ Interesting enough. And she also has a song that features Marilyn Manson! O_o The Chad Kroeger song is actually quite nice it's called 'Leting Me Go' and is worth a listen, the Marilyn Manso song is unfortuntely not terribly distinctive. I'm also intrigued that she's gone down the celebrity road of perfums, and even though I doubt that I'll be going Avril CRAZY and buy all of her fragrances all at once. I'm interested at least to sample a couple and 'possibly buy one! Her 4th album 'Goodbye Lullaby' I'm also listening to tracks of, which I'm actually kinda liking.
I'll leave with with 'Here's to Never Growing Up' which gives a decent nod to her classic stuff, and kinda makes me feel like I'm a 15 years old again!

And I've been ferreting around for some other steampunky music and have come across some rather nice bands and I'm not even too certain who to give you guys some tastiers of, To be honest I've been finding ti hard researching alledgely 'steampunk' music that I like Dr Steel, The Cog is Dead, Steampowered Giraffe are all bands in this catergory which simply I can't enjoy. However I've been listening to quite alot of quite errie almost Evanescence sounding stuff mixed with The Mechanisms and Emilie Autumn.
I'll give you a sample of a track by 'The Clockwork Dolls' called 'Impatial (the Battle)'

There is also a French Steampunk band called 'Life's Decay' which has a seductively pretty Jill Tracy snarling-like vocals with a steampunkish like procussion. Here is Gloria

And a final general mix of other things I've been listening in the past few weeks. I've been listening to the Weird and wonderful 'Cardiacs' who through a weirdest coincidence, that I no longer talk to the guys who introduced me to this band, I'm tempted to get their album 'Sing to God', don't be put off by the album title, one of my favourite tracks on this album is called 'Dirty Boy' and is apparently about masterbation! lol... For other bands I've been listening to My Ruin a little and I've now proparely warmed to. And a band that's been further my need for what I call mellow rock, kinda like Aereogramme and Moments In Grace here is 'Oceansize', I've been listening to the track 'Remember Where You Are' from the album 'Efforesce'
Until Later, CES ^_^ x
