Traveling Samantha's Adventures so far.

Actually, Sam has done nothing.  I kind-of feel bad.  She went to the communion party, but I've been so busy *ahem* studying for the AP Test, that I really didn't have time.  But not to fear!  This weekend, all I have to do is write an English paper, do Webassign, and hopefully go to a booksale!  Doesn't sound like too much, does it?
I had a GREAT day today.  Actually, it started out bad (I felt sick before the AP test like I always do when I'm nervous) but the test was actually pretty... easy.  Compared to Euro, at least.  And I was freaked out that I hadn't studied enough.  And then a girl did her seminar in Creative Writing today.  I knew her in seventh grade, and she's grown so much and is so pretty and so talented a writer that I feel infererior around her.  So finally on the way to work I told myself to stop it, I'm good too.  Because I am a good writer, I just don't write in her style.  Which is good.  I also OBVIOUSLY don't like real sentences!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yeah.

And then I went to work but since I was there early I caught up with a friend I haven't seen in forever.  We had a great talk on the phone.  Usually I do not do well on the phone unless I've known the person for like five years.  Even then.  I'm just not a phone person.  I mean I am, more than Kristine, but I get bored after awhile.  So anyway.  I wrote a message on my spot on Bonnie's board.  Yes, I have a spot on her chalkboard.  It's right by her computer and nobody ever writes/looks there so it's convenient for leaving messages.  This one said "I learned from you that I do not crumble, I learned that strength is something you choose... keep on believing, ... that's the lesson I learned from you - Miley Cyrus, 'I Learned From You'... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!"  At least Lucy is feeling better.

So back to the bad part of the day.  I decided to outline two diseases, which I will do here.
Tall People Disorted View Disorder, or TPDVD, is a disorder in which a person discriminates against someone who is shorter than average.  The person may express these qualities in regards to short people:
1.  Making fun,
2.  Ignoring, excluding from activities or conversation, not treating equally in conversation,
3.  Talking to short person as if they are younger than they really are, and/or
4.  Otherwise treating a short person differently than others of the same age, grade and/or social status.  Social status is included because often if a person is not "popular" they will be treated differently regardless of height.
TPDVD is present in two types:
1.  Subconcious Tall People Distorted View Disorder, or SubTPDVD, is a common condition and may even be prevalent in short people.  This is a subconscious and not-on-purpose discrimination in which the person does not previously know the short person (ie: "You can't drive here, can you?!" based on a person's height).  Comments may sound rude or this may be as simple as a surprised glance.  The best way to rid yourself of any SubTPDVD is to treat all people the same and try not to make assumptions when meeting people.  It is also best not to ask questions right away and accept people for who they are.
-SubTVDVD may also be expressed when a person has known a short person and is friends with them.  This is called Friendly TVDVD.  The short person may understand this condition, offer subtle or large hints, and/or excuse their friend, who does not realize they are treating their short friend differently.  If you have a short friend, check to make sure you treat him/her the same as others.
2.  Conscious Tall People Distorted View Disorder, or ConTPDVD, is when the symptoms of TPDVD are expressed on purpose.  People who have ConTPDVD often have a low self-esteem and seek to control others who seem vulnerable (IE short people).  They should recognize that short people are no more vulnerable than others and often are stronger due to circumstances in their lives.

Short People Syndrome is the name of the chronic condition all short people experience throughout their lives as they are constantly faced with all forms of TPDVD.  :)

Yeah, only I would make up diseases for fun!
