The lovely
xferinoc (HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEDNESDAY!) picked five of my icons (good ones, too!) to explain/discuss/what have you. And if you comment I'll pick five of yours for you to explain in your LJ :)
I like glowing orbs--she is basically wrapped around my IKEA desk lamp. I use this when I feel surreal, or pensive, or indescribable.
Reading through old Harry and the Potters tour diaries, I discovered the magic that is Wizard People, Dear Reader. My two favorite cousins and I watched it when they visited late this summer, and the Quidditch match is one of our favorite scenes. This is what Harry proclaims to the stands after catching the snitch. I use this when I am feeling smug-ly on top of the world.
Bill Haverchuck! My favorite character from Freaks and Geeks. This is him "mid-funk". See -->
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY_r5O4PKi4I use this when I'm feeling funky or geeky or giddy.
Oh, Tobias. One of my favorite AD quotes. My friend Catherine and I used to whisper "awkward silence!" to each other in the midst of weird moments among groups of friends. If we were still friends in high school (2003-2007) we would have been whispering "douche chiiiill" to each other. I use this when discussing things of douche quality.
Young Christian Bale in Empire of the Sun! I use this when I would say OH MY GOD if I were speaking aloud.
I enjoyed work tonight. Kate was engaging, and I like her but I'm uncomfortable with her standoffishness. She was excited when I mentioned that the pearly bouncy ball we have looks just like the prophecies in HP.
My parents met me at work when I finished and we went downtown to eat at Jake Melnicks. I had a delicious veggie burger. I did homework and half watched King of California (one of mom's library movies) in their condo afterward.
It was a pretty good end to a distressing visit (for me only). I notice that I was feeling better about myself and my place in...the world at large, today and I've just been feeling shitty up until now, and that certainly reflects on my feelings towards my family. Not that none of what I wrote about yesterday should be brushed aside because today I've got self-confidence. It's just not so prevalent. Or something.
Jane's note cards have inspired me to write out (but not in list form) my priorities, and specific, every day things I'd like to incorporate into my daily routine. Breaking habits, forming new ones, hurrah, hurrah!
In 40 minutes it will be WOLFBANE'S 20TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such fun planned late tomorrow night :D love you, Jane.
