The fight sequences were part Samurai Jack, part Matrix (think slow-mo).
And bits of it was simply so mystical - I love the way how Master Wu-Gui dissipated with the cherry blossom petals, truly immortal.
Wouldn't hesitate to get the DVD when it comes out
