earing allergies?

my earslobes itch. they itch so badly thye hurt. it's really rather painful. this happens whenever i wear a certain pair of earings. unfortunately, they are my favorites. i think that i have to retire them, though. my ears are sore. it was driving me demented all day. well, more demented than normal, that is. i hope that my other earings are ok. now, granted, i know that a guy that's bent on planting kisses prefers no earings getting him in the way and catching on his face (random fact, curtesy of
dreadpiratesb, i think), but i happen to like wearing earings. if i'm allergic to a metal or a coating that's found in a lot of earings, than whats the point of having peirced ears?
