back to school
i miss trevor. but then, i'm in very good company.
yesterday, there was a whole bunch of us gathered, and we really felt trevor's absence keenly. so after having apple pie and icecream, what else were we supposed to do? we called him. 12 minutes. that's all. but it was nice. it was like a support group.
actually, going back to earlier in the evening, andre(a)w tried his normal "i'm going to eep the andre(w)a" (it semi failed because i saw him). but instead of saying "how have you been?" or any of the other customary conversation starter phrases, all he said was "what are you going to do now?" well now, isn't that specifically designed to open flood gates. it opened the talking flood gates, which, since we were in the middle of a concert, wasn't all that polite. but we needed to talk. it was good.
i have to say, i slept really well last night. normally, the first time sleeping in a new place, i don't sleep well at all. i think that part of my good rest was the fact that i've used my mattress before (it's an air bed, and i used it in the summer when i didn't want to sleep upstairs). also, the mattress was hard. i was tired, and when i was falling asleep, there were no car sounds. all that i heard were the woodsy "night noises" that i'm used to.
i need to get some food here, and i need to move my lamp. the food because i'm hungry, and the lamp because i can't see the projection of my clock from my bed.
i have a very coordinated room right now. first of all, there's wolves, as per normal. but second of all, over the summer karen found a wolf wall hanging. she called up mel, asked mel if she should buy it, since it screamed "andrea" at her. well, wouldn't you know, it exactly matches the wolf blanket that i use as my bedspread? two wolves, one looking, once howling. it really gives my room quite the finished look. i was also able to rearrange my room so that there is the appearance of more space. it has really opened the room up. yes, i think that it is still the smallest of the rooms, but only just. i'm really very happy with it :-) it suits me.
all in all, i think that this year will be great. i'm with wonderful people, i like my room, and i have internet access, at least for now. all that i need is my new laptop.
oh yeah, and i still need a name for my car.
