Pancake House

Aug 18, 2010 09:27

visited Pancake House last night; it was the best meal i've had for the last ten weeks. a pity i decided to visit it at week eleven. check out their menu. ambiance was relaxing but service was really bad. i can never understand the food industry - whenever their food become famous, service is always bad.

It was down an alley along King William Street, which is also known as the city.
the shop looked really traditional - the ancient feeling because of the woody deco.

Yes, finally found a 24hrs makan place!

their menu looked kiddy and playful.

What PY ate
Jamaican Banana: Caramelised banana pieces served on two buttermilk pancakes topped with vanilla icecream.

Cottage Fried Potatoes: with grilled ham pieces, spring onions, sour cream and sweet chilli sauce.
.

Caramel Swiss Shake

What I had
Single Crepe Scott: Ground beef cooked in red wine, herbs, mushrooms and cheese wrapped in a French crepe with side salad.

Blueberries: Two pancakes with large juicy bluberries sauteed in warm sauce served with vanilla icecream.

Booze: VB. (which tasted like the indian beer i had two years ago) :|

Verdict: Crepe scott was awesome- flavor's there, the mushroom and minced beef was gorgeous. definitely coming back for this. the blueberries pancake however, wasn't a hit. i don't know was it because I'm already three quarts full but thought it would be nicer if they actually caramelize the blueberries sauce to make it sweeter instead of adding honey manually which didn't quite make a diff. the pancake however, was yummy. koped a couple of pieces of cottage fried potatoes and it wasn't really special. presentation wise weren't there, it looked like rojaked potatoes.

and yes, the happy people after a well-fed meal.
PSP after food aids digestion. FACT. look at the sian-ness on PY's face.
