Clara and her mother-half-remembered tidbits
Hey-just popping here with a little piece of Clara-related… mindfuckery. Please forgive the incoherence in advance ;)
I keep thinking Clara’s mother has to be important in figuring out who she is. (And that’s although I don’t really buy the theories that make her related to the Ponds/River somehow-and I think I wouldn’t really like that, I’d like her storyline to be something new, unless it were something HUGE that would be tied with some former loose plotlines, such as the Pandorica.) The point is, I feel that I’ve kept hearing references to her mother-but it’s been driving me bonkers, because I can’t find some of them anymore, in the eps or on Google, and I’m starting to think I invented part of it ;)
Okay, so here goes:
1- This one I’m certain about, at least. We know Clara’s mum has her birthday when the Doctor arrives on the asylum. Now, that’s a reason for the soufflés thing, but it didn’t need to be her BIRTHDAY. She could just have made soufflés for any reason at all… So the birthday should be there to mean something (like River’s birthday on the day of Melody’s birth). I fail to see what for now, obviously. Also-the woman who asked the Doctor for help, Darla, she wanted him to save her daughter. According to the wiki, the latter was called Hannah. Still-how big is the coincidence? Do we believe in coincidences?
2- Here is when my imagination kicks in… =P Did anyone else hear a reference to Clara’s mother, father or just whoever the hell she lives in in the Snowmen episode? I was absolutely POSITIVE it was there, but I went back to the scene where she wakes up and gets ready to leave for her governess job to check the exact script, and-nothing. Nothing on Google either. Am I turning mad?
3- Next thing that drives me crazy-I’ve been on that page a while ago, that gave St. John spoilers, with bits of dialogue that’d… somehow been heard when it got filmed? I was just reading quickly, so I’m not sure anymore, but there was that one line when Clara told the Doctor her mother had died. I’ve been looking everywhere for the website to find out if it’s just a bunch of nonsense or if it looks serious, and of COURSE I can’t find it anymore. Well, guess we’ll find out on March 30th.
The not being sure if half of these references exist anywhere but inside my mind kind of spoils the whole thing, but… I just feel that there were too many references for it to be innocent, no matter what. So… does anyone remember something related to Clara’s mother or family, be it one of those or something I missed? And what do you think it might mean? =)
