Spock/Uhura Prompt Table .02
Prompt #5
"Short skirt, long jacket." (Cake)
A/N: In an attempt to cure my writer's block, I'm attempting to fill a few prompts. I will finish both my stories.
Spock walked across the quad at his usual brisk pace. He, like every other member of the SFA faculty and student body outside, was wearing the regulation issue long black overcoat over his uniform. The San Francisco weather was unusually cold and damp for the time of year. He entered the building and headed down the corridor to lecture hall 14B. He removed the coat before entering, hanging it on a peg by the door, never breaking his stride. He approached the lectern, placed the PADD in it and turned to face the class.
Spock suppressed the un-Vulcan like urge to sigh. The entire front row was filled with female cadets, all clad in the obscenely short skirts of the Star Fleet Uniform. All with their legs crossed in the same manner, as if the action had been choreographed. This particular pose caused the ridiculously short skirt to inch higher thus exposing even more skin that usual. Again, Spock considered the idea of implementing alphabetically assigned seating. His gaze momentarily traveled to Cadet Uhura, seated in her usual place at the end of the front row. Her head bowed as she read a PADD. Her legs were crossed like the others, one leg swinging to her own private rhythm. Cadet Nyota Uhura. “Uhura”, with a “U”.
Again, Spock dismissed the idea of alphabetically assigned seating. Suppressing another urge to sigh, he focused his gaze on a familiar spot at the back of the room and started the day’s lecture.
