I have arrived! Aternaville, Canada, seems very pleasant so far. It couldn't be more different from Tokyo, although there are certain similarities with the Campus shopping district. And the people are unfailingly kind and welcoming.
I have to admit, it feels remarkably odd to be embarking on such an adventure without Suoh and Akira by my side. Odd indeed when you realize that before I met them, I did everything alone. Life certainly has gotten more fun since they arrived! But I couldn’t ask them to accompany me this time. Suoh wasn't pleased to let me go, of course, but the Elementary Division would certainly collapse in upon itself without him there, and he can forward me whatever paperwork requires my attention - is it bad that I’m pleased to still have the ability to tease him, even at a distance? (Note to self: Arrange a satellite feed of the security cameras from the Student Council offices. I must be able to see his face.) And who would teach Akira’s cooking classes? Not to mention Ohkawa-会長’s and Nagisa-嬢’s unhappiness if I took Akira and Suoh away from them. No, I shall simply have to forge ahead alone this time!
Bless the 理事長 and the 社長 for not questioning why I chose this little town as my base of operations. I’m sure they intended to place me in a larger city, Montreal or Ontario perhaps, but somehow I feel that Aternaville is where I need to be. I’ve never been one to ignore my instincts.
Just so I don't forget: When all the titles are stripped away, 残 is what is left behind. It's perfectly fitting, isn't it? Nokoru mono wa nokoru dake. Ha!
妹之山 残
[[OOC: The kanji for Nokoru's name means 'to remain, to be left behind'. He's just enjoying the wordplay.]]
