Words in the Dark 6/? anonymous November 23 2011, 14:26:45 UTC
And at that, Kurogane narrowed his eyes. There was a strange undertone to the wizard’s voice, a familiar undertone, and his clenched his jaw because, damn it, it just didn’t help right now.

‘What are you playing at?’ he muttered, flicking to the next comic in the book. Maybe the one entitled Peach Fluff Girls Love would be less soppy than what he’d been reading thus far.

‘I’m not playing,’ said Fay, in that same silky voice. ‘I want you to fuck me.’

What the…

Kurogane’s eyes bulged, and it was lucky, really, that he’d spent the better part of his life learning to master his bodily impulses, because otherwise he might’ve leapt off the bed and onto the wizard, kid and manjuu be damned! Fay’s words sent heat racing to his cheeks, made the air catch in his throat, and the want in his belly shifted much closer to need.

And then he scowled. All of which was fucking typical, of course. The bastard was probably getting off on this, watching Kurogane squirm. Most likely he had a hand wrapped around his…

Fuck.

Kurogane breathed in and out and stopped thinking about what Fay’s hand might be wrapped around. He flicked the next page, and, ‘Knock it off,’ he said sharply. ‘The kid could hear you.’

‘He can’t hear anything.’ Fay said, and though his voice hadn’t lost that suggestive edge, there was something else to it now too: an eerie calm.

Kurogane looked over to where Syaoran lay snoring (lucky bastard). He couldn’t see anything different about him, but Fay’s tone said something was going on. Still, what did it even matter? The kid was there (not to mention that manjuu), and it didn’t matter how many times a certain dark corner of his brain urged him to just do it anyway. Syaoran wasn’t his kid (stupid nicknames Do Not Count), but it wasn’t something he felt comfortable with - wasn’t something his parents would’ve done and wasn’t something he was about to do either. No, the inn was full, the entire fucking town was full, and that was fucking that.

The inn was full. It was freezing and it was late and the only thing they could do was act like men and wait it out. Kurogane accepted that (just), he was resigned to it, but now Fay was purring across the room and batting his lashes - fucking propositioning him with the kid in plain sight! - and Kurogane could feel his head (amongst other things) beginning to throb.

‘Well, whatever,’ he said roughly, and gave Syaoran one last look before he returned to the maganyan. ‘We can’t do that here, so stop talking about it.’

‘We can’t?’

The bastard was smiling, Kurogane could hear it, and a fresh wave of irritation swept over him. ‘Of course not, idiot!’
