Then she could take a quick, hot shower in the bathroom adjoining the dojo - the proprietors (and their current employers), this world’s Kendappa and Souma, had installed a traditional bath as well, but soaking, however inviting, was strictly off-limits right now. After that, she could see about collapsing into bed in their quiet, airconditioned room.
The two men may have been just as maddening as the emperor and shinobi she’d left behind in Nihon, but they did, at least, provide generously for their employees.
In fact, she could probably manage to sleep through to tomorrow, providing Fay didn’t wake her first.
(Far too often, Kurogane surfaced to find the blonde idiot buried face-first in her chest, a sheen of sweat gathering between that pale skin and her own, well… ample endowments. Not that she particularly wanted to apply that word (any word) to them, but they were what they were. Having to pull a half-conscious Fay from between them by her hair was not conducive to restful slumber.
‘Idiot! You’ll suffocate, sleeping like that!’

‘Forget it. What do you expect me to tell the kid if it happens?’

‘Tche!’)
That carefree tone was decidedly absent from the witch now, though. She was still stroking Kurogane’s lower belly, light, soft movement, and the ninja thought she’d have to stop her in a minute, because those thumbs were becoming rather distracting, and it just wasn’t a good time…

‘What am I going to do with you?’ Fay murmured. ‘You won’t take any of the medicine Mokona told us about, you won’t let me work my magic.’
Kurogane stepped backwards, and didn’t miss those hands caressing her battered, bruised abdomen one bit.
‘I’m not swallowing anything that manjuu recommends, and you can’t do healing spells, so let me do something and go-’
But Fay neatly caught her waist again, those soft hands slipping around - God, she really was soft - and then lower, across hips to gently cup the curve of Kurogane’s rear.
‘Who said anything about healing spells?’
It was practically a purr. The witch looked up, eyes half-lidded and dark, smile far too pleased with itself, and Kurogane knew that face. In fact, she’d already seen it (at least) once that morning.
And damn it, she’d already said no! Barely half an hour ago. In no uncertain terms.
‘Witch,’ she gritted, ‘I told you. This isn’t a good time.’
‘Oh? Why not?
‘Because.’
‘Because why?’
‘Because it isn’t a good time. You know it isn’t-’
