This is a tutorial requested by
nocturnelorelei which won Third Place at
clamp_visual Week Twenty. Newbies beware. This is Photoshop-friendly and I have no idea whether it's translatable or not. Oh, and this tut is only for images that have a white background! ^^

Step o1. Start off with this base (
) of Violet from Miyuki-chan in Wonderland (base is by
nocturnelorelei).
Step o2. Apply this (
) texture by
colorfilter and set it to Multiply 100%. It'll look like this:
Ugly, right? We'll fix that.
Step o3. Grab the eraser tool and erase the parts on Violet's body. Be careful not to erase the entire texture. Of course, another alternative would be using a layer mask but this is how I did it. Now it looks like this:
Step o4. Create a new layer and use any of
cdg's decorative brushes. Make sure they're in different colors (like
mine).
Step o5. Another texture (
) by
colorfilter. Make sure it's on top and set it to Lighten 100%.
Step o6.
Light texture by
awmpdotnet. Rotate it to any position you desire and set it to Pin Light 100%.
Step o7. Duplicate the original base and place it on top. Set its blending mode to Soft Light 100%.
Step o8. Create a new layer and use a dark blue gradient (I used
misc's Sarah gradients) and set it to Lighten 100%.
Step o9. Create another layer and use another blue gradient (I used another one of
misc's Sarah gradients and set it to Screen 42%.
Step 1o. Use a texture (
) by
_hakanaidreams and set it Color Burn 53%.
Step 11. Repeat step o7.
Step 12. If you're using PS7, use the Rounded Rectangle Tool and create your text area on the icon. Make sure it's white.
Step 13. Add the text and borders of your choice and you're done.
Note: Please don't copy this tutorial step by step. Be original and creative. ^_^
