Christmas Updates

The season has been ubber busy. Time moves fast with life on rotation.
So I was in the Arctic for Christmas...quite an experience but nothing like home. I missed home :(
Yes I cried. When I was on the phone. I wished I could have been with my family. At the same time...it was interesting being at Josh's. We had only been dating for a week or so officially by Christmas. But I spent Christmas there.
Josh's son tried to claim me as his....interesting but no. I put my foot down on that one.
He jumped on me...gave me a hug and would shout "mine". The boy is 8 and has some serious abandonment issues it appears.
I cooked breakfast for Josh and his 2 kids. At least it felt a little bit like home. The feasting we do down south is definetly not the same for them. Josh and his bestfriend Aron made dinner but the oven broke. So the turkey was only half cooked, the baked potatoes were raw and the creamed corn was cold. But the effort and thought was there and certainly memorable! Josh gave me a beautiful christmas present. It's a heart necklace...so pretty. It MAY have diamonds but I'm not sure. I wish he had spent the money on his kids rather than me. But I love it none the less.
In other news I have officially lost 26 pounds since last march. I'm more than half way to my pre operation goal. This makes me very happy. I hope to lose the next 24 before 2010. I need to start working out more though. Ultimately...once I'm at my pre surgery weight I still plan to lose another 30-40 pounds. My reward is a trip to the grand canyon to go on a donkey ride to the bottom!!!
Meanwhile I'm counting down the days to Christmas on Saturday. That's when there will be yet another Christmas. Dad wants to have lobster instead of turkey though but I'm not so keen on the idea...I want to make stuffing and smell turkey and all that goodness. I did make lots of cookies though!!! I spent days making a huge tray of cookies for the 30 people that were at the air inuit christmas feast.
