*super-mega-ginormous-glompsquish* I ♥ you all.
Thank you so much, my lovely, generous, thoughtful friends. Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, positive vibes, and the general outpouring of support you sent to me and my family. I'm still scared and sick, but it warms the cockles of my heart to know y'all are thinking of us during these tough times.
Just want to update y'all on a few things.
Good: Mom's surgery yesterday was a success and minimally invasive, and she's coming home today. She'll have a visiting nurse twice a week for the next two weeks. Sissy is in town until Sunday to help take care of Mom and Dad. Hurray!
Okay: Mr. C's compensation package pays his salary until mid-January. If he's not working by then, rat-bastards promised (I believe this is in writing) not to contest his unemployment claim. We will be responsible for paying our COBRA.
Good: Hubby is already networking with business contacts and friends by phone and internet to drum up job leads. In the meantime, he's started physical therapy for his shoulder this week and on the road to recovery.
Bad: Lil' C has pneumonia and will not be attending school this week. This is strange, so very strange because this kid never gets sick, since his tonsils were removed six years ago. He's enjoying time off with dad, and together they are tackling homework. Hopefully he'll be better for Halloween this Sunday.
Hmm: That's me. I'm still nervous and undernourished. My favorite of all holidays is approaching, yet I feel uninspired at the moment. I need to finish one more painted pumpkin and replace the gravestones in the front yard (they were removed on account of blustery weather). I don't even know if my costume will fit. I don't know if I want to dress up and channel my inner-Bellatrix on Sunday. I still have some time to decide.
Once again, thanks for the support. It really means the world to me.
