It's bad when fans can do a better job.

There isn't much to nitpick about yesterday's Tree With Deep Roots--it was a strong episode with important developments for the characters, and I was hardly the only one who was moved to tears by the end. But there was a serious misstep, which was all the more annoying because of the overall quality of the episode. Out of nowhere, they decided to play a song by Yangpa over a critical moment not only within the episode but also for probably the only romantic relationship in the series, and it was so jarring a fan joked she thought it came from the neighbors next door. It was so jarring someone from Jang Hyuk's DCgallery replaced the song with instrumental music to illustrate the difference it would have made with a more appropriate choice, and by god, it really does because it gives us a much better idea of the beautiful job the actors did with the scene:

They've been more or less on the mark with the music score, but I shudder to think what might be in store for us if there are more songs to promote from the soundtrack.
