This weekend was epic. Horray for Madison. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else this weekend.
For starters, I heard the voice of God this weekend, and he speaks
Hopelandic. Sigur Ros played at the Orpheum on Friday night. I
actually teared up during what I call the "tingly" song (song 4 from ()
). I was actually able to see the band, which is a rarity, when
you are 5'5". They bowed 3 times after the concert, not realizing
that we wanted an encore.
Meghan came at around 2 in the morning. We parked her car, which
is always a bitch in Madison, and then went to sleep. The next
morning, we got up and rolled the keg into my back closet, because my
dear aunties Ruth and Jean were coming to see the farmer's
market. They arrived around 9:45, and we went to the farmer's
market. They took Meghan and I out to lunch, and then they went
back to Wrightstown. I actually had a good time, which suprised
me. My aunts are good in small doses. I got a cool lamp for
a present from them. It looks like a purse. You'll have to
see it.
Jenn, Meghan and I then made it our mission to make the most glorious
birthday cake ever, for one Miss Christine Diane Harbin, Esquire.
We went to the World Famous Triangle Market, and bought our
supplies. We ended up decorating the cake with Skittles,
M&Ms, marshmellows, and a bottle of Diet Coke. Someone will
have pictures.
We somehow beat Michigan last night. God must have been smiling
on us, despite our party school status. Then began the
celebration of the 21st anniversary of Chrissy's successful journey
through the birth canal. I tried my best to look like Kimber
Henry. Just for Chrissy. Cuz I like to cut up
beautiful people.
The party started to really pick up around 11:30. It was so much
fun, that our local law enforcement decided to help us celebrate.
They busted through our open door, and shouted "Who lives here!
Who lives here!" Obviously, I lived there, so I was scared.
They made everyone leave, and they asked for our IDs. I was sure
I was going to get a drinking ticket. but the cops were nice, and they
just wrote down our names, told us that if they had to come back, we'd
get tickets. So we were left with half a keg.
This morning Jenn and I made spaghetti sauce from scratch, and Meghan
left in the mid afternoon. We went to the Nitty Gritty for
Chrissy's birthday mug, and wished her a happy 21st birthday. I
am now working on an assignment I've had 3 weeks to work on. I
don't think I'll be up too late.
Get some sleep, people.
