Seattle

Now I remember why I moved away!! I think this is the first time since I moved to Phoenix eight years ago that I haven't wanted to move back when I've come to visit Seattle. Seriously, 50 degrees and rainy in June?! When I've been here in the winter I didn't mind it because that's how winter is supposed to be, but this is a bit ridiculous. The only upside is that I get to wear long sleeve maternity clothes from when I was pregnant with Will that I might not be able to wear again this pregnancy, depending on fall weather in Phoenix.

We've been having a good time, though. We had a bit of a rental car mishap, but other than that the trip up was uneventful. The house my mom rented is really nice, and my brother's been staying here too. Thursday night Jess, Sarah, and Teri came over and we went to dinner at a cool bar/restaurant Ryan told us about, Shadowland. It was fun, and the food was really good. Yesterday Ryan and I took Will to the children's museum, and Will loved it! He didn't want to leave. It seemed pretty much the same as when I had gone when I was a kid. We met my parents for lunch at Totem House Fish & Chips by the Ballard Locks. We came home to take naps and when we woke up it was POURING down rain outside. We got some really good Chinese take-out for dinner. Oh man, it was AWESOME. We don't have many good Chinese restaurants in Phoenix, so that was a real treat. I had to call my friend Jen in Phoenix to tell her about it, it was that good.

Now today we're going to see some old family friends in Bothell around 1:00. I guess we're just hanging out here until then. Will's having so much fun with Ryan. Tomorrow I think we're going to Ivar's Salmon House for brunch--our Seattle trip Sunday morning tradition--and then to Snoqualmie or North Bend to ride the train. Monday we have to be at the airport around 1:00 or 1:30, so not sure what we'll do before we have to leave.

I just can't believe this weather!!
