Claire Princeton

Claire and her family lived in Saskatchewan, Canada, until 1998, where she moved to Manchester, England. She lives with her mother, Ciera (54, healer), her father, Hugh (58, also a healer), and her two siblings: Emily (9), and Brian (19). They're a middle class family, and her brother was also a Slytherin. Your pureblood characters will know that there were hardly any dark wizards/witches in Claire's family, and that her mother's side is FULL of blood-traitors: not a single bad-seed. However, they will most likely know about Lilith Anselm, who seduced and killed her husband; Nikomedes Princeton, a crazy dark wizard who had ten children; Camilla Princeton, Nikomede's daughter that killed her twin sister, Heiress; Morrigan Princeton, who only died in 2004 and was constantly in trouble with the ministry, along with her husband Hades Princeton (another of Nikomede's children); and Jewel Magne, Hades's daughter with two grandchildren and is most likely speculated as a dark witch. That is only fifteen percent or so of her fathers family (not including Lily Rows, and, of course, Claire Princeton), so the Princeton name is mostly a lame, blood-traitorous one.
One of the main aspects of Claire is her (seemingly) friendliness. She's a very outgoing person, and attempts to talk to anyone and everyone, regardless of blood, house, gender, etc. She feels the need to know everyone, and will chat up even the meanest of people. Any student or teacher will most likely see her as being open, inviting, and friendly, when in reality, usually she is deciding on who is worth getting to know, and for what reasons. Claire is usually drawn to people that she thinks will help her become "great", so she usually likes driven, ambitious, loyal, etc kind of people. She does, of course, look for friends, also, as she IS a teenage girl, even if her motives usually are a bit twisted.
While she would NEVER admit it to anyone, because that'd just be stupid, she's a huge liar, manipulative, and subtle. She seems like a sweet, outgoing, generous girl, but she's really not. She's actually bordering on being a sociopath, and there's not very many people she cares about. She doesn't care if someone dies or lives, and usually sees people as an opportunity. NOTE: NOT IC KNOWLEDGE.
She's organized, ambitious, and driven. If she wants something, she will try and get it no matter what it takes. She can be a little bit cocky, as she usually thinks people are too stupid to notice that she's stepping all over them. Sometimes, this can lead to her being a bit careless, and she constantly underestimates people.
Claire isn't dumb enough to risk getting disqualified at, say, a quidditch match, but she IS overly-competitive. She loves friendly rivalry, but if she really wants to prove herself to someone, she'll play quite dirty. When it comes to other things she wants, she uses faux-friendships, subtle bribery, guilt-tripping or whatever else is possible to get her way.
She's VERY straight-forward and blunt. She has quite the habit of lying, so whether it's a truth or a lie, it usually comes out quite hard. Claire doesn't beat around the bush and doesn't appreciate guessing games, so she gets straight to the point.
AGAIN, NOT IG KNOWLEDGE: Claire puts herself first, always. There may be one or two people that this doesn't apply to, but for the most part, she's very selfish. She IS friendly and nice by default, but if it's a choice between her and someone else, she always picks herself. She'll, of course, sugarcoat anytime she steps on someone, and will use guilt-tripping and whatnot to make it seem like she wasn't in the wrong.
As I stated before, Claire is a HUGE sociopath. She LOVES violence and arguments, but usually seems like a mediator because she'll act like she's trying to break it up. The only reason she doesn't seek out conflict is because it would ruin her shiny reputation, but it's rather creepy, she's really excited by this stuff. :\
Of course, being a very self-serving and ambitious girl, Claire's loyalties shift easily. She wants to be on the winning side or the side that's "in demand". Right now, she can use her pureblood status to her advantage, and it SEEMS like Voldemorts side is winning, so of course she wants in on that action! She acts like she's completely against it, however, because you can't openly agree with Voldemort, I think. By acting so nice and getting ready for later in life, she's really bettering her chances to be in power.
I mentioned this, that Claire constantly underestimates people. She also sometimes overestimates herself, so she thinks things like alcohol or whatever won't effect her.
Academically: Her best classes are potions and transfiguration; her worst are history and astronomy, and she usually slacks off in charms and crams for tests. It's worked pretty well for her, though.
