There is so much to write about, in that I soon feel that there is too much to write about -- and I end up writing nothing. Sigh.
So this is my attempt to change that. :-) (Looking back through this journal, it comes as no suprise that my entries tend to be helter-skelter.)
Let's start with Family Ties fun! I only have one episode left before I've finished watching Season 1. My paramour is surprised that I didn't devour all the discs in one sitting, but I don't want them to end. I'm crossing all of my limbs in hope that Season 2 will be released quickly! (Distressingly, my Party of Five collection has ceased after Season 2...)
I've been startled with familiar faces in guest-starring roles! Quite a treat. To name:
Larry Hankin ("Mr. Heckles" the weird apartment neighbour on Friends)
Grant Heslov ("Faisil", the videographer from the movie True Lies)
Peter Jurasik ("Londo" from Babylon 5)
Nancy Lenehan ("Pat" from the BtVS episode, "Dead Man's Party")
Lee Montgomery ("Jeff" from the movie Girls Just Want to Have Fun)
And of course, TOM HANKS as Elyse's fugitive brother, Ned. But I knew that one going in. :-)
Notes:
-Did you know that Alex P. Keaton loses his virginity in the fourth episode?! I'm certain that plotline went directly over my head as a youngster. Wow.
-They introduce the character of next-door-neighbour Skippy earlier than I remembered. He indeed makes his debut in episode nine.
-My favourite episode thus far is episode 21, "Stage Fright". This is the one where Mallory is a last-minute replacement for an ill contestant at the high school quiz bowl. The entire thing is hilarious from start to finish. CLASSIC.
-Michael J. Fox. You are the best. That's all.
In other news...
Do I have other news? C'mon, this is Family Ties, people.
