Its a beautiful day in LA. I've lived here a long time and I still can't get over how perfect the weather is. I'm sitting on the side of the PCH between santa monica and the palisades watching the surfers and reading my book and of course updating from my blackberry
Sitting by the water is the most relaxing thing in the world to me and the surfers look like tiny models of people lined up on some imaginary shelf. All sitting and facing the horizon waiting for the next wave. I've never surfed but it seems a lot like fishing in its meditative lulls where you just sort sit, wait and contemplate
I wonder if all that waiting is the reason they are so relaxed. The daily surrender to a force greater than yourself and the momentary exhilaration of the perfect wave just makes you patient and calm. I should learn to surf. It might teach me waiting isn't so hard
I'm reading for whom the bell tolls and I must get back to it.
That's all then.
