Paring: Jordan/Claire
Prompt: “AGGHH”
Setting: Faneuil Hall
“All I need is a Subway Map shower Curtain, then we can get coffee and go.” Claire said to Jordan as she led the way into Urban Outfitters.
Jordan sighed, somewhat exasperated. “Can’t you just get someone to send you one?”
“This was where I got the last one.”
Faneuil Hall the weekend after Christmas was really the last place Jordan wanted to be, but Claire talked her into it. Quite frankly, tourists annoyed her and not just because they stared at everything remotely historical for hours on end, but also walked in circles in the mall.
Claire was busy looking through the home décor section when Jordan spotted what could be the most appropriate gift for…anyone in her office, the
chemistry cocktail set. It was never too early for shopping for next Christmas, right?
Claire couldn’t believe it, no subway map shower curtain. How could this be possible? “Agghh!” She muttered under her breath and went off to find Jordan again. She spotted her in the toys section.
“No Shower Curtain.”
“Really?” Jordan held up a
pocket sized neon colored plastic Jesus, “Maybe he can help you find it.”
“Very funny.”
“I thought so.”
Claire thought about it for a second, “Hand me one, he can be useful next time I get accosted by some religious group and asked if I found Jesus.”
“Your turn to watch him?”
“I was thinking more like, ‘I did…he’s right here!’”
Jordan laughed.
Claire walked up to the register, avoiding the little children in her path, “Besides, how many people can say they impulse bought Jesus?”
“Good point.”
They each paid for their purchases, and headed in the direction of the nearest Dunkin Donuts.
“I was afraid you were going to the Starbucks in there.” Jordan said with a sense of relief.
“Ick. Over-roasted second rate beans, and they cost four bucks. No.”
“I just didn’t want to have to speak Fra-talian.”
“Fra-tailian?”
“What other language would you call Venti. It’s not French or Italian.”
Claire laughed as she entered the coffee shop and they continued on their day.
