“Umma, appa,” a four-year-old boy ran towards a brown-haired lady and a black-haired man seated on one of the red chaise lounges in the living room.
The woman was wearing a cream-colored regency dress, while on her hands, held a thick leather book. A book passed for generations.
“What is it?” the lady smiled friendly as she put her son on her lap, book placed on the lounge beside her, while the man smiled fondly at his son.
“I talked to grandma again today!” the little boy happily told her, his short fangs flashing.
“Y-You talked to grandma? W-What did she said?” the lady’s expression turned into a nervous one as she glanced at her frowning husband.
“She said that the horses need to fed more and that the new chef wasn’t as good as the last chef!” the boy replied with a giggle, totally oblivious with how his parents looked at him.
“Are you sure it is grandma?” his father spoke up, looking at his son in worry.
“Of course! Even she smelled like grandma, appa!” the boy showed his gummy smile again.
The lady just smiled and hugged her son, although her face was still filled with worry. The man on the other hand, looked at the boy seriously.

It was full moon when the boy on the huge bed thrashed around. The spacious classic room was illuminated by only a few candles on each corner of the room and on the bedside table. The pair of seemed-perfect vampire couple was seated beside the bed, watching their offspring with worry and desperation.
“We can’t let this happen, darling,” the lady looked at her husband with tear-struck face. Her beauty covered by sorrow. “He might be lost and won’t come back!”
The man stroked her wife’s back soothingly and resolved his decision.
“I will confine his power,” the man finally said.
The lady’s face paled but nodded and held her son’s small hand tightly, not wanting to let go.
“This might hurt you, beloved,” the man told the weeping woman. “You need to leave the room.”
The woman nodded and wiped her tears before she stood up and walked out of the room, not before looking back at her tortured son one last time.
And the sound of a loud cry filled the night.
