Back home at 1:30am fresh from my first ever PPO Gala concert. I wish I could say I was a guest soprano, but no, I'm just an audience, seated at the 8th lower box, with a partially obstructed view of the orchestra (those seats were probably meant for tall people. boo), at a student discounted price of Php416.64.
We dressed up for the night, each of us (Joan, Mia, Ate Liz and I) wore dresses and make-up. The guys (Ryan, Kuya Ron, Karl and Aaron (kuya ron's friends) wore suits. Only to find some of the people in the orchestra seats wearing jeans and t-shirt. Oh well. We were just taking into account that this was supposed to be a gala concert. It was fun to be dressed up though. We had a glimpse of what it was like to live a fabulous life,if only in our own little way. haha.
I had a great time despite my constant irritating coughs which had me stepping out of the auditorium every 30minutes or so to clear my throat up. Luckily we sat near the door.
There were familiar faces such as the soloist flute whom I think happened to be the same flutist of The Velvet Moon Orchestra that accompanied us at the Diliman Classics. And other random people whom I think I've seen somewhere.
We got our picture taken with Principal Conductor Olivier Ochanine. Although we weren't able to take more pictures after that. I think we were all tired.
We attempted to eat at Teriyaki Boy only to find out it was already closed, so we ended up eating at Shakey's somewhere in Roxas Blvd. The ride home wasn't very eventful except that Joan and I spent half the ride singing songs from Shrek the musical and Wicked. XD
Mmmm... I can't wait to get to Baguio. :D
