Today I re-looked up what lynching was.

Although that word is always used in the context of racism, I think it obfuscates what is actually going on, in my opinion.

The word came up again in what I was reading, you see, so I looked it up again.

What it is: "the act of killing someone without a legal trial, usually by hanging (= killing using a rope around the neck)"

And I think that when people use words that others don't readily understand, then they don't act.
