Lately I have been using that language-learning platform to help my Chinese (from English), but I previously have used it for a couple of other languages.
Let me try to remember them before I refer to its list exactly...
Meanwhile, right now I have Arabian Nights from Aladdin stuck in my head due to wanting to eventually fly off to study snakes. This plan has continually failed, in flying colors, though.
I have also been using it from Japanese as the primary language, since when I was 12 I switched the computer's OS to JP, so my mother blew a gasket at me since she wanted to do banking on it but then she couldn't anymore, but the current-day JP stuff is much less developed because not many people have tried to do anything with it.
I think that might have been why I was mumbling to Cong earlier in the day that I didn't find 22 unlucky, but it might have been for another reason. (At least, I thought that was what I was doing.)
I can't figure out what is going on, really, so I will tell you that I have been trying basically the list of everything available except my friend Lauren told me that Hebrew and Yiddish were essentially the same thing except Yiddish was more informal so I only picked Hebrew since in the past I have found that it is easier to figure out how to decode how to make things more informal from the most formal way to say it as possible.
Ergo, that might be, if today is 10 July...
Oh! My father's birthday! He is more of a musician, a violinist, than a linguist.
OK, I will go to the list, then, since IDK and it might be interesting to see how my "gamification" totals have changed since last time I did this. I don't think I deleted any of the languages I had been studying from before, but I may have.
I don't think I've ever seen Return of Jafar or The Adventures of Aladdin, which are the II and III titles.
I could take them out from the library one after the other to see what they are like though! I'll start this week with RoJ since in the YT of the title theme Arabian Nights there IS a cobra and *look back and forth innocently* I wanted originally to be going all the way off to the merry land of Cambridge to be studying herpetology. Cong said he'd feed me when I came. I feel guilty for subsequently not showing up, therefore, but he told me not to feel bad. Then I read confusing stuff about invalidating how a partner feels and not to fall for guys who do that, but then again, it is a completely valid situation.
That will be my eighth hold! Maybe I should get rid of some. But then again I like to read...
The summary of Aladdin II says that Iago changed sides!
I didn't put on hold Aladdin III since I have so many other things that I don't think I will have time this week, but I might look at it later. I think there are a number of languages in that region that I haven't really gotten into besides Arabic and French like Persian and Spanish but I have never been there so I don't know. I am only speaking hypothetically.
I wanted to note after thinking of Iago that my own cockatiel, Kramer, had fathered 12 chicks before he flew away proudly on a thermal.
ETA: My email alerted me that in 2021 today was called "Panic Awareness Day!" So keep calm and carry on, friends. (That is what I read is actually Orwellian propaganda, from the Ministry of Information, but I don't strictly remember reading it in that book when I R&R'ed it in high school.)
I would like to finish or leave incomplete four more library materials for my next trip so that I have an even number of things I am returning and retrieving, and I have four more histories about Princess Diana, so that might be nice if I can get those! I also have on the side a Yangtze River book from a guy who went to China to teach English (I think that is what I discerned) and something about the human genome which looked interesting which I am currently looking through in hopes that I might be able to figure out more genetics information from it to help the dying-out animals.
