OK, so here's the deal. I spent all of Sept. in rehab at Highland Ridge, in Utah. I've been clean and sober for 42 very long days. Before that, I traveled with my husband, Alex, from Southern Calif. to midwestern Oregon. He works for Union Pacific Railroad and we move about every two weeks. That's how I became Cynaera's "Gypsy on the Road". She's been my best friend since 1978. We worked as telephone operators in Elko,NV. She still lives there with her brother, James. I was just there, a week ago, for a visit with my in-laws. Alex and I were both born there. He started traveling with the railroad 2 years ago, and in January of this year, we bought a 30 foot RV and now I go where ever he goes. We had 3 great dogs, but one died of old age and complications from Cushings Disease. He was a Boarder Collie/Lab mix, named Hunter. I rescued him as a puppy. On the drive home, I saw an exit sign that read "Hunter". I said it out loud, and his little head perked up, and he wagged his tail a little, so that became his name. That was Dec. 27, 1991. The next addition to our family was Timber, a beautiful, white German Sheperd. In April of this year, her liver failed and we had to have her put to sleep. Alex and I are still mourning her. Little Sage, is my baby girl. Dumb as a sack of hammers, but cute and loveable. She's a Queensland Heeler mix and her coloring looks like a baby deer. She and I go on long walks together. Since we move so much, there's always new places to explore.
The pic I use is of Juniper. He now lives with Cyneara and her family of 6 cats and 1 dog. I understand he's been naughty and is not playing nice with the others, but Cyn is great with cats and I know she'll lay down some loving disipline.
It's a beautiful day here in Caliente, blue sky and 73 degrees. I'm going to take Sage for a long walk. Alex won't be home for hours, so there's a lot of time to kill. (or be productive) I'm trying to be more positive. My weakness is being a little negative. Hopefully these posts will become more interesting. And, if I get a digital camera this weekend, I can use new pics here, instead of cranky Juniper.
