WHO: Treize's Psychology Class (Treize, Heero, Trowa, Duo, Open)
WHEN: Monday, August 25th during the school day at some point. :0 (backdated)
WHERE: Clairbourn High (Psychology class room, I guess)
WHAT: Treize's first class and an interesting renunion. Oh, and Battleship, or so I'm told.
WARNINGS: Profound navel contemplation. Possible language, but I can't think of much else.
Treize watching the students shuffle in one by one. He paid special attention as the remnants for his former scout troupe dragged themselves into the now crowded class room. Trowa was of course, looking unaffected by the start of classes and the general nervous tension around him. Heero just looked vaguely irritated, but then, that was a typical expression for Heero. Even when he was younger Treize used to marvel that a mere kid could look that displeased all the time. Of course, Heero was more than a mere kid, but that was neither here nor there. Anyway, Heero was, for all intents and purposes, as unaffected as Trowa. Duo, however, was having the time of his life as a social butterfly. He waved to another student as he sat down, casting a jovial smile around the room. Others smiled back in recognition of their school chum and the scene became rather annoyingly typical. The scene was, for all the world, looking quite a bit like one of the pages of the psychology textbook. Those silly propaganda images of teenagers laughing together over lunch or in some other astoundingly typical settings. Treize briefly wondered if all those annoying pictures were, in fact, staged... Or if it was some elaborate series of hidden cameras setup throughout American high schools that taped everything as it happened.
Of course, it was then that he decided this train of thought might be bordering on unhealthy paranoia and decided to concentrate his attention on his waiting class. Well, not so much waiting as 'ignoring'. His students were staring out windows and chatting amongst themselves well after his second attempt at a polite attention grabbing gesture. Finally, he raised his right hand a good above his head and said, in a slightly louder voice than he would have normally used, "If you've all finished greeting each other, I'd like to start the class."
They settled, he thought he saw Duo snicker towards the back. Heero and Trowa remained disturbingly unreadable. The rest of his students seemed torn between annoyance and embarrassment at having their teacher pull them away from their social mingling.
"Now that I've gotten your attention," he continued, reaching down to find a seating chart on his desk. "I have decided to assign your seating this semester. So, I'm sorry to inconvenience you, but you'll have to move." He smirked at the dismayed looks in the room. Once again, Heero and Trowa remained unreadable. Duo seemed to share the rest of the class' disappointment, but then maybe that was just the reaction Treize expected out of him. Holding his hand up again to quiet the cries of 'this is lame' and 'oh, man...' he began to read the names off calmly, gesturing to where they were to relocate.
It seemed the day was off to an interesting start. Now if they could get through this, and the syllabus outline without event he would consider this venture at least a partial success.
