Who: Zero, Ryoko
When: Saturday, March 22, evening
Where: Zero's backyard
What: A little spar to work off some stress
Zero rolled up the sleeves of his black sweatshirt before using both hands to raise up the hachimaki he had received from his brother, Enker, many years ago. He pressed it against his forehead and reached back, tying the headband tightly just above his ponytail, and shook his hands out before grabbing the shinai that sat next to his bed. Despite being avid with kendo, Zero rarely wore the headband, not wishing for it to get too messed up in a fight. It was one of his most treasured possessions, particularly from his family; it was Enker's when he had finished his training in kendo, and was passed on to Zero when the older sibling felt he had advanced far enough in the style.
He had planned on first wearing the hachimaki when the team would go to their first competition, but something compelled him to wear it today. He really respected Ryoko - after all, there was a reason she was the captain, and he was only vice-captain. But to see her so distracted in recent weeks... he hoped that it wasn't going to impare her fighting ability. With his own boredom bordering on madness, he figured this would be a good way for them both to clear their heads. Heading back downstairs, he sat down at the dining room table, going over some vague notes that were scribbled on a pad. He'd left the front door unlocked, as he said he would, and now waited.
