It's still not really my thing (maybe your Femslash is?) but you write it so well that I can believe this really could be part of the non-epilogue compliant universe we love so much.
And you actually made me appreciate that maybe Sofia is a more sympathetic character than I'd given her credit for, which is an impressive achievement. :)

Sofia was a bit bland. I'd say they didn't have enough time to develop her character, but it took Jane two episodes (from S2, admittedly) to grab people's attention, so...
Thanks for giving it a chance, Foxy, and happy you liked it :)

It seems she does. It's the fangirl inall of us that makes us crush on the lovely Sara. :)
I feel you could be right that the writers didn't give Sofia much chance to develop and while I agree that she was bland she could have been a lot better given some deecent plot. Jane was an entirely different character and yes, Season 2 probably allowed her to grab the fannish attention more. Plus it seems to have been her chemistry with Lincoln that attracted so many of us to the pairing. Linc/Vee was lovely but Jane was so much more his equal. What a shame nothing ever came of it. :(
Thanks for giving it a chance, Foxy
Until one tries something one should never say I don't like it, right? :)

I love how she stick with Michael though.;) And having Sofia have a crush on her is SO SOOOOO much better than having Lincoln being secretly in love with her, lol. Maybe its because it feels less 'threatening' in a way, or because indeed, Sofia isnt family, like Lincoln. To Sofia, Sara doesnt, in my eyes, have to be 'off-limits' like she should be to Lincoln..I am sure you get what I mean.
That said, this is a wonderful piece and I enjoyed it very very much, the ending in particular. She is a smart girl, Sara, isnt she? ;)

*gasp* You little Michael/Sara shipper! Could it be because Sofia's interest isn't reciprocated? ;) At least, it doesn't seem to be: I left the ending open, after all - although to be honest, in my mind, Sara wants to talk about a way to deal with the situation, not to tell Sofia that she feels the same. Um. Unrequited love written for Femslash Day... Maybe it wasn't the best idea!
But to be a bit more serious, yes, I know what you mean and I agree: Sofia is not as "too close for comfort" as Lincoln can be.
I'm happy you liked it!
