And that's something that doesn't comes easily to Michael, isn't it?
I do agree that Michael was driven a lot by selfishness but maybe in the way that he felt bad for being the cause of Linc's predicament and to make himself feel better he went with the plan? And possibly the same with Sara...he felt responsible and needed to exonerate himself? There are so many complications in their relationships we could find so many motivations for Michael! :)
So I guess it both plays on his fears and reassures him since they stick around ^__^

You're right that as a one-shot it works perfectly as Sara being a darn good tease but one day (soon!) when you write the base fic the extra textures of provocation and taunting will add another enjoyable flavour to this awesome verse!
The fic lost nothing by substituting black silk for cuffs and I don't care how Michael is restrained just as long as he is!! ;)
