Prison Break - 4.20
I'm certainly not going to squee the way I used to, but I actually liked it. I still despise the 'Christina being alive and oh so mean' storyline, but at least, this week, I enjoyed its execution.
After four years, we're finally having/going to have a scene between Sara and T-Bag. It was about time.
"Do you know what you're doing?" - '"Nope." Cute. Even cuter Michael and Lincoln pouting in the car with Mahone kind of big brotherly in the backseat *g* Something is obviously wrong with me, because I almost liked Mahone this week. Maybe it has to do with the fact hat he made Self shut up at the beginning of the episode (thanks so much). Or with the fact that when he told Sara that they don't care for each other, because of the tone he used, I almost heard the opposite.
That being said, could we stop with the remarks about Lincoln being dumb? It's getting old, and the shortest jokes are always the best ones. And because I'm feeling petty, if you people were so bright, one of you would have retrieved Scylla long ago - or not lost it in the first place.
Michael is so not going to tell Linc about the "not really brothers" lie thing ^_^
Totally random: the other day, I was comparing some aspects of Prison Break to Alias. Now I'd really, really like to be able to write a crackastic crossover fic between the two shows. Christina and Irina talking, in a Mom of the Year kind of way. Irina verbally beating the crap out of Christina.
Star Trek
I *am* going to squee. OK, maybe not really, just throwing a few randoms remarks.
I wasn't expecting anything so there were little risks I was really disappointed. But I really enjoyed it. I liked the idea, its execution, the take on the characters. I'm usually not very fond of AU, but this is Star Trek, which makes everything all right - AU are pretty much a given in Star Trek. There were a few allusions to Alias (I don't really care) and a bunch of references to the trek-verse (I do care). The story itself is not, but the tone is fun and light.
Oh, um, and love triangle? OK then *g* I didn't really ship anyone in the original series but even though it feels strange at first, Spock/Uhura works for me.
The only hitch is, I felt a bit like watching a movie inside of a movie but I can't blame anyone for that: forty years vs two hours... *shrugs* It probably partially explains why I loved so much the scenes with the real Spock. I mean, the older Spock. Leonard Nimoy's Spock.
And tiny detail because I'm French... We have two different words for 'you': 'tu' and 'vous'. 'Tu' is rather familiar, 'vous' more formal. I've seen the movie in English but with French subtitles: Kirk, Uhura, McCoy, Scotty and Sulu used 'tu' - not Mr. Spock obviously. Anyway, it's a difference with the older version, although it totally makes sense here, but it's something else that felt weird :-p I don't think anyone on my flist will see the movie in French but if you do, let me know about the translation? Pretty please? I'm curious.
NB: For those who may care about the allusions to Alias: big red ball, Rachel Nichols entirely painted in green, Amanda Foreman as a bridge officer ;) And I assume there are references to Lost too, but having never watched Lost...
