Before, when she was dating Lincoln, he’d been the kind of kid to get in the way so, yes, even if she didn’t dislike him - she truly had no reason to - she’d found him annoying. He’d been ever so present, demanding, clingy and weird, in a shy and nice way that had always prevented her from telling him to leave them alone. More than once, she’d had the feeling to compete with him for Lincoln’s attention. They had operated in a same, small space, always polite, thoughtful and a bit wary of each other, not distanced enough to be strangers but not close enough to be friends or family, having too much in common to be mere acquaintances. It had never been a comfortable place and she had probably been way too young to know how to deal with that, back then. This entire paragraph is wonderful because it perfectly describes how I would describe their relationship had I really thought about it ( ... )

Yep ;) Writing from Lisa's POV gave me a headache and I fumbled a bit: I was stuck with her perspective because of the original drabble and couldn't manage to swtich to Michael's. But here it is ^^

I'm happy you think that because trying to imagine the kind of relationship they had was one my main reasons to write this. That and the fact it's fun to try to make believable an uncommon pairing *g*
Thanks for the feedback.

For a story you would 'never write', you certainly did an amazing job on it, lol! I know I'm a painfully stubborn OTP person, but trust me when I saw I totally believe this could have happened. *g*

The great thing with pre-series stories is that you can read or write them without 'beatraying' canonical pairings or OTP :-p It's probably one of the reasons I set so many of my Michael/Lincoln fics either pre-series or at an undetermined moment.
I used to stick to canon, to really stick. I blame Prison Break for making me write weird things and enjoying it *g*
Anyway I'm glad you found this believable. Thanks a lot for the comment!

I have to agree with happywriter06 that this is the way I would imagine anything happening between Mike and Lisa.

It's just what I wanted to convey. A bit of embarrassment, but nothing too heavy or angsty.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks a lot for reading and commenting :)

Awwwww!! I'm with happywriter06 with that paragraph she so brilliantly picked out because that's just the sort of relationship I could imagine them having while Lisa and Lincoln were still together. Comfortably awkward, sort of!
And this made me like Lisa too. Michael was still being Michael with his low-self worth, of course, but Lisa did her best to not make him feel bad or second best. The complete opposite of my take on this pairing and I do appreciate that someone finally made Lisa seem like a nice person!
It was sweet, funny and hot! You did a great job since it's one of the stories you would not write!! ;o)
Thanks, sweetheart!
*hugs*

The prompt I used to write the original drabble (Michael/Lisa/Hold me close) stirred up a plot bunny and matched just right the pbhiatus_fic's challenge, but I really wondered about the kind of relationship they might have. So... a paragraph to answser this question, and the rest of the story for the prompt and the challenge, I guess *g*

That's the fun of ficcing, isn't it, different approaches. I'm probably too much of a sissy to make Lisa as evil as you did, and have Michael suffer more than he aready had. I wrote a different take in a story I've just finished translating, though. Just... no evil Lisa :-p
You did a great job since it's one of the stories you would not write!!
Mwaa. By now, I've actually written three of them. They're like a stock of weird pairings, it's hard to resist them *g*
