I post lots of sunrise or sunset pics to Instagram/Twitter/Facebook, but these were really good. On my way from a customer on Saturday, I saw the lovely oranges in the sky, and drove up Northcliff Hill to the Eco Park where there is an amazing view. The Eco Park was packed with people having picnics or enjoying the view. I got some amazing photos from up there.
Here's the water tower atop Northcliff Hill, with city lights beyond (Sandton, mainly). Cresta Shopping Centre is bottom left.
Here's the sky looking west:
Here's a good view of Jupiter right above. I mean, this is looking out toward where we live (we are, I think, on the left of the pic on the edge of that first, darkest hill). The clump of yellow lights near the bottom are where Beyers Naude Drive crosses the N1 freeway. The the left of that are some large geometric buildings; those are the offices I go to when I have to go in.
A wide-angle view looking NW. The Beyers/N1 junction is still visible there.
This is looking south, away from the sunset, towards the centre of Joburg city.
