We forget the things we love sometimes
This last Sat I was on stage for the first time in about 6 months. Forgot how much I missed it. We had a semi-goth band in that night downstairs. The bassist and guitartist where down at my end of the Pub. One of them reconized me from one of the bands I had been in years ago, so they made up their minds they werer going to play with me. Some of the regulars know I was in a popular local band in Glasgow so when the singer called me out it turned in a "cant refuse situation" and im always willing to have a go at it.
After a quick conferance It was decided "fasination St" by the Cure was a good way to close the night. The bassist kicks into the opening riff, I take out the half-braid I wear and get my hair all in my face*laughs*( more authentic that way*nods*). and away we go. Now usually , im playing guitar, although I've had voice lessons, My voice will ALWAYS be low and raspy( think Richie Kotzen crossed with barry white with a highland/glasgow burr.). So I told them to do the song a bit slower and we'd sex it up a bit,, Turned Fasination street on a sex grind thing.Alas, no panties*sad face* but MANY , many people loved it.Got the crowd going and into it. Strung it out and did a bit of "burn" in the middle. Was a grand time, and I've missed it so much.
Must have been good because now they want me to sit with the band in several places, they really liked the lead singers voice( female) with mine. Also have several other offers to sit with bands . But i like the whole impromptu thing( one reason i work at the place i do, and why i USED to hang at the castle(( dont get me started on that one)).It would take alot to get me gigging again, need to work with professionals, that being said, i really, REALLY missed the rush....
