Yesterday, I went to the Exploratorium to have a lunch chat with Senior Curator/Director of the Cinema Arts Program/Professor, Liz Keim, easily one of my favourite people that I met this year. Two weeks ago, I displayed my first public artwork in a museum: a dual film piece that explores the journey of two types of sugar in Chinese dessert soups

Here goes: Jon never made it to San Francisco. :\
Ever since this summer, Jon and I have been planning and dreaming of the two weeks in Winter Break over Christmas and New Years. It was kind of like we decided to enter a game of blackjack and pushed in all our chips on one hand of cards. When the time came to reveal the hand, we were completely screwed over by the other players: weather, British Airways, Heathrow... Jon promised me that no matter what he'll try to make it over. So each day this week, he called BA. He couldn't rebook because he had two tickets under his name and the other ticket--his friend who was also coming--decided to not bother (rebooking requires all tickets to be rebooked and his friend's girlfriend wanted the money back so he couldn't just rebook his own ticket). So he had to get a refund in order to get another roundtrip ticket. While looking for other flights, which are back-logged, Paddington station in London is shut down, Newquay Airport, which is near his house and can connect to London Gatwick, is closed down. So even if I ordered roundtrip for him, he wouldn't be able to get down to London. All our plans, the ordered tickets, the reservations for a once-prohibition bar...whoosh. My New Years Eve Masquerade Ball tickets? Probably going to my parents as an extension Christmas present. And that's my funny story: best winter break turns sour.
But I'm getting over it...though now the 7.5 month stretch of not seeing each other is turning into a 9.5 month stretch. *Sighs* Crazy right?

By the way, GREAT NEWS. I just received your package this evening with the adorable camel keychain. I love it. I also love the stamps which I am going to cut out and save to my stamp collection. :D Thank you so much.
P.S. You remembered correctly: you did not finish writing your card but that's perfectly a-ok!

I AM SO HAPPY THAT IT ARRIVED. :DDD But, ugh, sorry about the card: I must've been really crazypants or really distracted when I was writing it... BAH.

Hahaha, it's cool girl! I love the little camel guy but I'm scared to put him on my mess of keys and everything. (Don't want him to fall off!) I really really love post and receiving packages.
