is the mutation dominant or recessive?

All of the Exams are graded! and inputed into an Excel sheet! and emailed off to Dr. Wasserman! All that's left is to actually deliver the exams to his office tomorrow morning before I head down to lab! Although the grades are rather disappointing (I even wrote a song about it, although that's nothing new because this has been a very song writingesque week). I guess they create a nice curve, but I still wish they had all done better on the exam and actually understood genetics because they really don't seem prepared to take upper division genetics next quarter, even though I know many of them are planning on taking it.

Last week was insane because my kiddies had the midterm, I had to lead a review session for 300 students and at first thought I was going to be the only TA there (luckily a few came to replace those that canceled at the last minute), and a (successful!) mussel spawning. And I got to use my poor unloved staple remover to unstaple and separate 298 exams! This week is going to seem very low key compared to last, especially since I get to go home on Tuesday night after my last class!

I got a new vacuum yesterday! It is quite lovely, and actually picks up the red fuzz of our shedding rug! This saves me so much time because before I would go around the room picking up each individual piece of fuzz since the old vacuum refused to actually pick them up. The new vacuum is extremely powerful too, and I almost sucked up a shoe that got caught in the hose by its shoelace! Obviously I have to get use to my newly found vacuuming super powers! The vacuuming also inspired massive amounts of other cleaning expeditions, so know are entire apartment looks cleaner than it has for awhile. We even organized all the DVDs and untangled the multiple video game system controllers and cords. And we found another outlet for Gary (the toaster oven), so we don't have to have a war between the toaster and the rice cooker every day. Plus! we decorated! with a tree and window stickees and a wreath that I made out of a piece of garland and some stringed beads. Sure it's a little early for Christmas, but it's still exciting!
