[And nearby, Rydia pauses mid-stride to witness this crash. Then she approaches, shaking her head a little.]

Not you, too. Are you alright?

[He's hauled himself to his feet in rather short order, giving a glance to the destroyed bench before turning to Rydia.]

I'm not injured. That bench will be quite unusable for some time though.

[Rydia smirks a bit, glancing to the bench before she looks back at him.]

Better it than you. I won't pretend to understand the appeal of those rides, though, especially since I haven't heard of anyone not crashing.

I would probably have been less apt to try it had I known what it did, in all honesty.

After seeing people crash left and right, that killed my curiosity. I've had enough weirdness without adding that as well. Of course, some people just can't get enough....

It's almost an addiction, I would say. But I suppose as long as no one is actually hurt and since it's not going to last, they might as well enjoy it.

[She raises an eyebrow.]

You aren't going to try that again, are you? Because as much as I like running into you, I don't have much interest in watching crash after crash.

Did you ever figure out why they released you, by the way?

[He shakes his head, hiding how much that second sentence pleases him to hear.] Absolutely not. If there was a chance of getting those devices under control, perhaps. But there clearly isn't.

[She shakes her head, frowning.]

Not exactly. They behaved the same as they always did, until I told them to leave me alone, but I'm not sure if that was a malfunction, an experiment or if there was another reason of which I'm not aware. They haven't approached me since, though.

Despite the name, it's in depressingly short supply.

I see. Well that's all we're likely to get, I suppose. There seem to have been reports of a few similar instances, for what it's worth.

How similar, do you know? Were they more or less the same, or were there significant variations?

I didn't speak to the people involved, only saw and heard about the incidents over the journals, so I can't say for certain, but it seems that the face-painting, water, and the yelling of that particular phrase were all the same.

It is still possible to deal with undignified situations gracefully. They can make you look ridiculous, but they can't make you act like... well, like half of Luceti's population.
