Well, it would seem there's at least one blatant lie in it.

To be honest, no. But I can't prove it isn't.

Yeah, it is. I saved my world from its threat, and it was peaceful when I was taken. ...And time's supposed to stand still for your home while you're here, isn't it?

That last point is what I was referring to. How can our presence be missed if events, including the ones we are involved in, seem to have gone the same way?

That's a good point too... I didn't think about that, considering I think I'm from the furthest in the future of anyone I know here. So if things back home happen the way they're supposed to, despite us being trapped...

...Yeah, this is whole thing is a grade-A crock of bullshit.

That would be the logical conclusion. [If not how he would have phrased it.]

Yeah, the whole future gettin' messed up thing is what got me. We're all from different points in time, and nothin' changed back home just cuz some of us are here.

That's what convinced me as well. I didn't trust it even before I noticed that detail, but it was the final straw.

I wouldn't dream of trying to convince you otherwise, Kain.

[Largely because he knows that his placement on one side of an argument will probably have Kain move to the other side just out of principle.]

[Basically... yes. This is true.]

I have nothing to lose by attempting it.

One wonders...

[And he's just going to leave it at that.]

Yes, I do find it strange. Someone who recently arrived from my world had no idea that I was gone for over a year and a half. He said he'd seen me six months ago.

And you're not the only one with experiences like that. That gives us a direct contradiction with what they've said.

Which makes me only more certain that this is either a trap or another experiment.

I lean towards the latter.
