I'm not an animal. I'm protozoan, a member of a highly respected race on my world. But, it's alright if you made the mistake. Many people do.

It's alright, I've grown used to being called that these last few centuries. But, sometimes I wish I could hurry up and reach my final, humanoid form. I could talk to people without using these ... ridiculous wings.

But, yes, my body evolves into different forms over the years. I have been an Aquan and an Aeros. Now, I am an Arshis.
