It started out as a joke
I was only blowing smoke
And you don't know why you
took that one step further
Just an evening with old friends
Both returning with odd ends
I wanna believe she said
NO and he hurt her
Amidst his thieving and weaving,
why weren't you leaving?
Were you bound, blind, bored?
Through grieving and dry heaving,
Don't know why I'm not leaving
At least I'm not surprised anymore
When you told me the story
sparing details gory
I shuddered and sweat ice like
waking up from a bad dream
As my battered vessel flies on
Beyond the event her eye's on
I'm crushed under the truth
so I can't hear myself scream
Guess your love can be bottled
Now you're getting off coddled
And so I resent myself more
Though I'd like to see him throttled
and have his insides remodelled
At least I'm not surprised anymore
