I had just posted this HUGE comment about my feelings on this...Then LiveJournal ate it.
Those have to be some of my favorite lyrics ever written!
Aside from the fact that I sing it on the way to work to "warm up",,,It has always been there for me when I really needed to hear the words. Kind of like a strange punctuation mark to my low points. The one thing about this song is, no matter how many times I hear or sing it....the words always bring up HUGE emotional swells for me. Sometimes good sometimes bad....But it amazed me that after hundreds (or maybe even thousands) of times hearing it...It can still stir up an emotional response.
Weird Story . . .
So for the last 5 weeks or so, I've been in a pretty "Low Place"...for whatever reason. Well my birthday rolls around..and I just kinda feel "empty" about the whole thing. Turns out Saves the Day is playing that night, but we already have plans to do the "traditional" birthday dinner thing. So when dinner is over I convince a few of my buddies to run over to the club in the hopes that we can catch the show. When we get there, we find out they've already been playing almost an hour. So we convince the guy at the door to let us in for five bucks...We get there just in time to hear their last two songs. Wanna take a guess what the last song was ? ? ?
It was crazy...All of a sudden it totally made me feel like I was going to cry. I couldn't tell if it was the "happy" kind or the "sad" kind...But in all of the haze of the last few weeks....I was just so glad to know that it still made me FEEL anything.
